Is there any way to make my graphics card fit?

Sorry, I am the least techie person in the world but I have a new graphics card and the slot..inserter thing....has a hole in a different place to the slot on the motherboard, the manual ays its AGP compatible and my motherboard has a little arrow and says AGP, any way to make this work? Thanks!
