Have famous clical composers had influences on rock music?

Oh yes for sure! Being a rock musician myself I can say that personally clical music has been an influence on the way I look at music. Many of the 'shredder' guitar players out there will usually cite clical musicians as an influence...players like Yngwie Malmsteen, Tony MacAlpine, and Marty Freidman.
