How to Spawn bristlenose plecos?

Hi, I gonna try to spawn bristlenose plecos yes i know plecos are hard to breed. I have one Question: I have one ciclid about 3-4 inches, and he keeps going in the cave I made for the bn pleco, is this gonna be a problem? Also, does the cave have to have a bottom or can it just be gravel, thank you
