Pls help me regarding online job.?

In the month of september 2008 i payed Rs 1500 to a small office named Appsoft(APPSOFT SOLUTIONS) for registering for online job. I was given work of placing Adds on google. A friend of mine told me that online jobs are only scams, after hearing this i din't even start the job. Pls tell me is this kind of job a scam. Are there any real online of reputed companys? Are all online jobs only a fake.
